MARCH/APRIL 2026

Stake Primary Presidency Message

As Sister Porter said to us (young and old) in General Conference: “Although you don't remember, you spent a long time in the spirit world learning and growing.”

Our Primary children are old souls. We are, as well.

Now here we are, on Earth, with a chance to choose our Saviour again - to choose Him by faith, and not by sight.

We are actively choosing Him as we help His little children to learn in Primary!

And the Saviour will take our efforts and “turn them into something great!”

We are here for you!
Thank you for all that you do in your ward primaries. We know that the children and teachers are being blessed through your valiant efforts. If there is anything you need from us to better do your callings, please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know.

Dalhousie Ward 2026 Spotlight

How many children are in your primary?
36, with one child being baptized with his family this Saturday.

How do you structure your primary time?
We meet all together for opening exercises and singing time before splitting off in to classes. We have a total of four classes. 4/5 year olds, 6/7 year olds, 8/9 year olds, and 10/11 year olds.

What is your primary's favorite activity?
We've only had two activities since the ward was formed. We recently had an Easter themed activity with an interactive lesson about the Easter story, a craft, and games. The children all seemed to enjoy it!

What has been a highlight or special moment in your primary recently?
Two of the children, brother and sister, were baptized on April 12th and we have another baptism coming up on April 18th.
Children will often learn a song faster and better if their listening is directed. Directed listening can also be called active or focused listening. This is a technique that can be adapted so well to any age and any song.

A music leader can facilitate directed listening by asking a specific question right before the children listen to a song, sing a phrase, or sing the whole song.

Discuss the answers after, and rinse repeat!
